Trends in production and using of the steel ropes

    Get PDF
The Steel ropes are an important structural and transport element in various industries. There are possible various trends in their production and usage from the technical progress point of view. There also are production improvements and materials for the steel rope properties, the development of machinery for the production of steel ropes and their elements as well as the development of new steel rope structures and the improvement parameters of present steel rope structures. This paper deals with questions of materials, used for the steel rope production and the steel rope characteristics for various structures with the reference to their parameters and possibilities of their usage

Legal Aspects Concerning Use of Drones in the Conditions of the Slovak Republic within the Sphere of Intra-logistics

    Get PDF
The use of drones for material transmits or support of activities of intra-logistics belongs among the new and progressive technological methods. Their primary purpose does not lie in the monitoring of employees; for the most part, it is utilized in the sphere of transport, when monitoring objects and private land properties or when supporting of intra-logistics, which is its primary economic purpose. Individual entrepreneurs need to protect their widely delineated private complexes which are always busy and full of employees. That is why they are often interested in eliminating of monitoring complexity of these areas. Newly proposed drone use requires further attention not only from the technical sphere but also from the field of law. Our current legal frame should be amended and updated as such, that it would enable their use

Possibilities of the Lotka-Volter’s Model using in the Area of Environmentalism

    Get PDF
Environmental problems are becoming more and more important in all industrial sectors. This trend is closely linked to the increase of the number and extent of solved tasks and problems. Often these are complex problems that involve the impact of a wide range of different factors. Traditional conventional methods are not suitable for their solutions. Contrary, the use of simulation and optimization tools is very effective. Their application is based on attested formulas and models, for example, the model of Lotka-Volter. It is a continuous model of system dynamics, which is used successfully in various areas. Within the frame of environmentalism, it could find application in suitable simulation tools in the questions of a solution of the problem of water and water courses protection

A simulation model of material particle trajectory by shifting of material by free fall

    Get PDF
The paper is aimed at the calculation of the throwing parabola of material particle and its graphical interpretation by changing input parameters selected according to predefined requirements. The aim is to compile a complex simulation model and comparison of the obtained simulation results on the model with analytical calculation. Simulation experiments on the model confirmed the known dependence of the change of throwing parabola by increased speed and retention of the radius of the staging drum. The simulation model was created in the program MSC Adams/View – a tool for easy construction and visualization of the model and convenient evaluation of the obtained results

Quality cost flows in manufacturing companies

    Get PDF
Companies have increasingly focused their attention on quality costs. Therefore, raising awareness of this group of expenses is essential. This paper aims to present a survey on the topic of costs of quality management in manufacturing companies in the Czech Republic. This paper opens with a literature review that focuses on the existing cost of quality models and then focuses on empirical research results. Manufacturing companies represent the framework of this research. The research with a total of 159 respondents provides information about the real market situation. The aim was to determine the significance of costs and cost-effectiveness. The study's findings revealed that 73% of organizations quantify their quality costs completely, 21% of companies quantify their costs only partly (external costs), and 6% of companies do not. 36% of surveyed companies (42 companies) that monitor quality costs use some of the recommended models, mainly the PAF model. The research was confirmed by hypothesis 1 that companies that use some type of evidence cost of quality have lower levels of these costs.Internal Grant Agency of FaME TBU; [IGA/FaME/2021/014

Analysis of workplaces supply in a production company

    Get PDF
The paper deals with the analysis of the supply of workplaces and the description of the related activities. Workplaces are supplied using specific supply means. The individual supplies used in the supply system, a description of the main activities and the principle of work are characterized. There are five alternative proposals for improving the supply of production workplaces. A proportional index method was used to select the optimal variant of the supply solution for the production workplaces. The optimal solution proposal is to add the transport lanes in the production hall. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences, 2017.research project "From horse-drawn railway to intermodal transport" within Visegrad Fund; [VEGA 1/0063/16, 1/0403/18]; [KEGA 018TUKE-4/2016

Human factor in business process management: modeling competencies of BPM roles

    Get PDF
Purpose: The study proposes competence models for the roles of process owners, process analysts and industrial engineers based on qualitative research. Design/methodology/approach: The research methodology is a combination of a questionnaire survey and interviewing in Czech companies, which develop the process approach. The proposed competence models can be utilized during business process management (BPM) implementation while appointing process owners, analysts and industrial engineers and their further development. Findings: This paper emphasizes the role of human factor and presents research results concerning most important BPM roles and their competencies. Research limitations/implications: There is lack of research (a research gap) in the field of BPM roles, what they do and what they should do. Practical implications: A system of competence models is thus a tool for human resource management and should increase the success rate of BPM projects. Another possible utilization is in higher education in business administration. Social implications: Another possible utilization is in higher education in business administration. Originality/value: It proposes competence models for the roles of process owners, process analysts and industrial engineers based on qualitative research. © 2020, Emerald Publishing Limited.Tomas Bata University -Faculty of Management and Economics [VaV-IP-RO/2018/03]; [VEGA 1/0600/20]; [KEGA 012TUKE4/2019]; [APVV SK-SRB-18-0053

Rescue of persons in traffic accidents on roads

    Get PDF
The article deals with traffic accident rates in the Czech Republic and activities of the basic component parts of the integrated rescue system in relation to traffic accident addressing. On the basis of statistical data from the period 2011 to 2018, the purpose of the main component parts of the integrated rescue system in providing aid to victims of traffic accidents is emphasized. A real traffic accident is used to describe the intervention procedure with an emphasis on disentangling individuals from wrecked motor vehicles and provision of pre-hospital emergency care. Assessment of traffic accidents and the methods of their addressing are summed up in proposals for the safe rescue of victims, provision of (first) aid, and elimination of intervention-related complications.Slovenská Akadémia Vied, SAV: VEGA 1/0638/19; Ministerstvo školstva, vedy, výskumu a športu Slovenskej republiky; Kultúrna a Edukacná Grantová Agentúra MŠVVaŠ SR, KEGA: 049TUKE-4/2020Scientific Grant Agency of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic; Slovak Academy of SciencesSlovak Academy of Sciences [VEGA 1/0638/19, KEGA 049TUKE-4/2020]; Cultural and Educational Grant Agency of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic; [VI04000080]; [RVO/FLKR/2020/03
